They are asked how much more it cost.. in another video he said 15-20% more. Much cheaper than losing everything, including furniture, and having to rebuild.

Those home owners bought into those BS Paradise sales gimmicks on the Florida coast in 2005 to 2012 when that area super boomed. But the builders all built the same POS quality homes and businesses...quick and crap..and in Michael they ALL failed.

just seeing that lone reinforced house surrounded by nothing but wreckage such a stark contrast of when its built to last vs built for cheap ain't it?

It is written the wise man built his house on the rock. This is a physical manifestation of a spiritual truth. Michael means who is like GOD? Seek the LORD JESUS CHRIST before you are no more like these houses built on sand. Matthew 22-27. JESUS is the ROCK OF SALVATION all ours are sinking sand.

I have a friend trying to help victims .. they are the real deal. The world doesn't get how poor some of these communities are away from the cameras where the concrete buildings are. Trailer dwellers. Lot of damaged doublewides back in those woods. My college roomate's mother lives in lived in Mexico Beach. They are taking supplies from Northhampton animal hospital in Tallahassee to Mexico Beach. Or you can donate here to help people who need it most 100% goes to vicitms. no six figure exec salarie like red cross. https://www.gofundme.com/33ux4-hurricane-michael-suppli

Ted -- It can be difficult for some people to understand things like our climate. It does not mean you are stupid. I'm sure you are able to contribute in other ways.

Thanks for the input Ted. You sound like you are really up on the subject. And right, we humans can't control or affect the climate or anything else. With Jesus at the wheel, all we have to do is bury our heads in the bible and go along for the ride. It's all predetermined.

Pat Walker 1. Humans can not control climate change. Merely slow it down slightly. And CAT-5 storms will happen regardless 2. You can be a liberal and not believe in CC/GW 3. You can be a conservative and believe in CC/GW 4. Let’s hope you end up a statistic too. Maybe even people you know too. Then we can all comment on how you didn’t drive the right kind of car, and thus you and your families tragic accident was your fault thus no sympathy is had

Sad this is the new accepted normal. Also new houses besides being up to code & those made with circular shape aero dynamics can survive better to stronger storms, big box homes won't.

Hurricanes are not growing larger. More people are settling near the beach in hurricane-risk areas and draining mangroves and swamps that absorb storm surge. Hurricane Camille (1969) has not been exceeded in size since.

There have been zero scientific studies stating that there is a link. And many stating that no link can be proven. Again, read my post, I stated that there is no consensus among climate scientists that global warming is linked to hurricane activity. Zip, nada, none. You have shown nothing to refute that. A decrease in hurricane activity due to a negative AMO would not show anthropogenic global warming is not happening. By the same token, an increase in hurricane activity due to a positive AMO does not prove global warming is a factor in increased hurricane activity. Why don't you believe the climate scientists when they say there is no proof the two are linked? Are you so wedded to your MSNBC derived position that it is like a religious belief? Could there be a link? Sure, it is possible, But as of 10/22/2018, there is no proof. Wait for the climate scientists to prove a link before you start claiming one. To do otherwise makes you look silly.

You do realize we are in a natural period of enhanced Atlantic cyclone activity. It varies over long timescales as part of the Atlantic multidecadal oscillation or AMO. Atlantic hurricane activity varies in ACE due to this. Global warming may cause more and stronger hurricanes but there is zero evidence that this is occurring yet. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atlantic_multidecadal_oscillation#/media/File:Amo_timeseries_1856-present.svg

ACE or Accumulated Cyclone Energy is a measurement showing the amount of energy released by all tropical cyclones throughout the year, notice how many more above average or hyperactive seasons we have had in the last 23 years compared to the rest of recorded meteorological history. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accumulated_cyclone_energy

I designed a home that holds up to a heavy cat 5, Windows, doors, shingles, you can look out your window as the eyewall passes over, 10 yrs ago, guess it's ready now, if an existing house gets 1000lbs of uplift I get 100,000.
